This program offers transportation via taxi on a public transit system, allowing older adults to schedule rides at least one day in advance. The program provides private rides and accepts payment through insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, and Medicaid.
For pricing, the program charges an hourly rate based on the time and distance traveled. During weekdays from 6am to 5pm, the cost is $50 per trip plus $3.00 per mile. After hours on weekdays, the charge increases to $60 per trip plus $3.50 per mile, and on weekends and holidays, it is $70 per trip plus $4.00 per mile. This program is also a paratransit service, offering assistance with packages or bags and allowing on-demand scheduling.
Additionally, the program provides door-to-door transportation services, following fixed routes to ensure a smooth and timely journey for older adults. Service animals are permitted onboard, and the program offers the option for a driver to wait for the passenger during appointments or errands. Overall, the Non Emergency Transportation program aims to provide a reliable and comfortable transportation solution for older adults needing to attend medical appointments and other essential engagements.
